HVM achieved a perfect safety record in 2021
Columbus, Ohio [April 19, 2022] – High Voltage Maintenance Corporation (HVM) recently received two industry safety awards for 2021, after a year without a single reportable safety incident and no lost time. HVM visits more than 1,200 customer sites in the Midwest and New England, performing electrical testing, maintenance and engineering services.
“Safety is not a box-checking exercise at HVM. It is more about having the right people in place with a disciplined approach that keeps our associates and work areas safe,” said HVM General Manager Eric Nation. “Receiving these significant awards is true recognition of how teamwork and commitment are both important to enforce safety within the workplace.”
The first award won is the Occupational Excellence Achievement Award from the National Safety Council (NSC) which recognizes organizations with injury and illness records better than or equal to 50% of the Bureau of Labor Statistics for their NAICS code. HVM also received NSC’s Perfect Record Award for operating 238,210 employee work hours without occupational injury or illness involving days away from work.
“HVM is committed to the safety of our workers and customers, and we are proud of our team for completing 2021 without a single recordable safety incident or any lost time,” said John Foged, Environmental, Safety & Health Manager, HVM. “These are jobsites and tasks with inherent risks and dangers, and these awards are a testament to our team’s attention to detail, ongoing training, professionalism and commitment.”
HVM maintains a rigorous safety training program for its team members. All field employees must complete OSHA safety training as a condition of employment and also complete 30 hours of continuing education courses every year.
